Summer 2024 Trend Forecast
Summer is finally here! I’ll be spending this summer in Greece; and in anticipation I’ve spent many hours shopping and packing, curating two checked bags and one carry-on filled with my summer wardrobe. I’m especially excited for this summers vibe, and I have a feeling that this one will be for the books. There are a lot of well-known and loved looks from last summer that are still circulating as slightly updated and altered versions of themselves
Pastels
Pastel & candy colors are so in for this summer (my favorite at the moment being pastel yellow). Nothing is better than throwing on a cute pastel dress after spending hours at the beach working on your tan!
2. Crochet
Crochet has been ALL over my Pinterest feed, and now thanks to Miu Miu, at the top of my designer wish list. Their crochet pouch is the perfect little bag for this summer and would pair perfectly with a pastel dress for a night out. It has such a great feel and style for the summer, and can be worn casual or dressed up. If you’re not lucky enough to have amazing friends who crochet you custom items for birthdays and holidays (Miss Scarlett Sullivan…), then check out some of the items down below.
4. Denim
Denim is never truly not in, but I’ve definitely been seeing an uptick in it this summer. What with Louis Vuitton reviving their denim handbag line, I’ve seen this trend all the way from high end runway to Wal-Mart, and I particularly have been loving a denim-on-denim ensemble. Demin pairs perfectly with both white and red, and I’m loving this For Love and Lemons set, that incorporates denim, lace, and red accents.
5. Sequins
I’ve loved sequins since my “Justice” days (if you know, you know) and I’ve been loving them now more than ever. They have such a cool-girl feel and look so great for a night out outfit. I picked up this adorable sequin slip dress at the mall, and I can’t wait to style it!
6. Gingham
Gingham is another one of those trends that is somewhat unavoidable, and for good reason. It is so cute for a vintage Americana summer and can be styled in so many different ways and colors for this summer. Frankies Bikinis did an amazing collaboration with Victoria’s Secret PINK which included so many adorable gingham pieces that can be styled in so many different ways.
7. Micro-Shorts
The micro skirts’ cousin, micro shorts, has been having its moment during festival season; and we can definitely expect to be seeing more of it this summer.
7. Cheetah, Leopard, etc. Print
Leopard and Cheetah have been absolutely dominating my Pinterest feed and I’m not complaining. Similarly to denim, cheetah pairs nicely with various shades of red, pink, and even baby blue. Cheetah also pairs nicely with the micro shorts trend, with a pair of Charlotte Russe sequined cheetah micro-shorts going viral. Some similar ones with a super cute lace-up detail from the brand “Brody” are on my wishlist and I’ve linked them below.
8. Scarves & Cat Eye Glasses
Scarves and cat eye glasses are such a cute look for the summer! Super retro and convenient for long car drives with the windows down. It adds the perfect touch of elegance to any outfit.
9. Capri Pants
Keeping in line with the previous, capri pants have such a cute vintage Americana feel to them. I’ve actually been on the fence about capri pants for quite some time now, but I officially love them. When styled right; they are the perfect wardrobe staple and perfect for breezy summer nights.
10. Florals
Floral prints are always a great choice for a summer look. The vibrant and fun nature of floral patterns adds a fresh touch to any outfit. Whether it's a floral dress, top, or even floral shoes, incorporating floral prints into your summer wardrobe is a great way to embrace the season's joyful and carefree vibe.
